Attitude!

Below points might help one in continuing with Self Enquiry amidst worldly affairs.

1. Instead of seeing Him(or oneself) in all, one should see in oneself, the world. One should be conscious of the fact that it is because of one Presence that the world is perceived by one. This way, one's mind is constant on one's presence than on the objects.

2. All actions take place in One's mere Sannidhi, just as a bud blossoms in the mere presence of Sun. So, all that needs to be done is to abide in this Presence or Sannidhi. No need to think of what the body does or should do. The mere Presence or Sannidhi will drive the actions of the body. It is this Presence that drives the actions. For those how cannot comprehend this is said that one need not worry about the actions of the body by attributing it to prarabdha or destiny; that it is the prarabdha or the destiny that drives the bodily actions. But for the mature minds, this is the truth to be contemplated upon. This also means that the 'i' or the ego doesn't need to do anything; it doesn't need to bother about what the body is doing/has to do. It can happily continue with enquiry by being aware of this fact and enjoy the peace "deep" within oneself. All that is needed is faith in this truth. If that is somehow earned by the Grace of the Guru, it doesn't take long to put this into practise! This is same as what Bhagavan meant when He said that all actions and miracles happen by His mere Presence. The Jnani is the Self and Vice-Versa. How about miracles? Bhagavan says that the body which is jada moving is a miracle. And we don't conceive this to be miracle because it is something that happens everyday.

3. Name and form are similar to Time and Space. These two exist for every thought. Only when these are dropped is the Self realized. How are these to be dropped? These are with or same as that of a thought. If not thought arises, there is no name or form. This is the only way to recognise one's true nature. As we carry on with enquiry, most of the times, because of the habit of objectifying everything, objectifies oneself. The only way to recognise is by examining what we think we are or perceiving to be the awareness (or the ego) is actually what it is. If there is name or form associated with it, we know that its only a thought and we need to carry on as to what it is that we call as 'i'. Only when one goes beyond these will the Self reveal itself and shine forth. What is "going" beyond? It is to recognise the fact that what one had thought oneself to be was only another thought and not one and continue with the enquiry. When the name and the form disappear the Self will shine forth.
