In Papaji's biography, it is recorded that when Bhagavan said to Papaji "Seer alone is real. Remain as Seer", Papaji in a video has said he felt the word Seer. It wasn't a mere word for Him. I have long wondered what it is; what he meant; how it is to feel the words spoken by the Master. I have never been able to see how its not the eyes that sees the world. Of course, I have understood that without the mind's attention falling on something, even with the eyes opened, things might not be seen/registered. But I somehow still felt its the eyes that see; the mind somehow gets the signal and processes the data.
Today, I was watching yet another video of his and he was trying to explain that its not the eyes that see. It was wonderful. He says its not the eyes that see the world, but the mind. the example he gave was - we see the world in dream state, when the eyes r closed. that struck me. Even though I had read that the world existed 'coz of the mind and the same is the cause for dreams, this point hadn't occurred to me. So, now I am further convinced that its not the eyes that see the world. But how the mind is enabled to see the world - yet to understand...
